marine ecologist, poet, and educator.
I’m a marine community ecologist studying how global change and climate disturbances affect the structure of species interaction networks in our oceans. I use a combination of field experiments, molecular tools, and network analysis to develop predictive theory.
I also write and facilitate workshops on ecopoetics – exploring themes of climate anxiety, interdependence, and sustainability through creative practices.
I frequently reflect on the complexities of scientific ethics, open science, data sovereignty, international fieldwork, and the role of researchers in society. I believe these issues are crucial to confront as part of my commitment to conducting science that is both collaborative and kind.
